Installed Mon 10th March 2025

A human sized zoetrope hanging from the ceiling, depicting the animation of a girl transitioning through dance between a hospital gown and everyday clothes trapped in the endless cycle of chronic illness.

The Zoetrope must be spun manually by each person as they go inside.

The Zoetrope invites people to stand in the centre on the wooden circle which is painted with footprints, to ‘come stand in my shoes’ and experience the dizziness I feel on a regular basis due to pain and chronic fatigue caused by IBD and chronic pain. The outside is adorned with the screenprints ‘Wasted energy’ and ‘Spoon spending’.
